We're thrilled to introduce the newest addition to our Artist Editions series: a beautiful collaboration with UK-based illustrator Alice Mawdsley. This limited edition collection, titled Ceramics, brings together heritage, hand-drawn art, and a celebration of cross-cultural creativity, all wrapped up in one stunning Zipster print.

About the Artist

Alice Mawdsley is a freelance illustrator whose work focuses on travel, food, and everyday life – often captured through vivid on-location drawings. Based between her London studio and her travels around the world, Alice’s illustration style is observational, thoughtful, and richly detailed. Whether sketching a market scene or a quiet museum corner, her work always tells a story about people, places, and the threads that connect us.

The Collaboration

For this collaboration, Alice visited Winchester College and the V&A Museum in London, where she was drawn to the ornate Chinese ceramics collection. Using coloured pencils and her sketchbook, she sat among the museum artefacts, sketching the decorative motifs, symbolic forms, and elegant textures of each piece. These drawings were later developed into a repeat pattern that we’ve brought to life on our soft, sustainable Zipster fabric.

The final print is a joyful mix of tradition and playfulness – a celebration of craftsmanship across cultures, and a reminder of the beauty found in art, heritage, and storytelling.
